The Encounters Journey — one hero who meets everyone

The photo where grandfather, grandmother, the cousins from abroad and the grandchildren all stand together — it doesn't exist. It was never taken. The Encounters Journey builds it. You pick one hero, upload photos of the people they are meant to meet, and we create the encounters themselves — and then the film in which the hero walks from one to the next.

The whole process, on one real film

This is not a description — it is a film made on the site. One photo of the hero, three family photos, three figures from a pack, and the film that came out of them. Here is every stage.

1. What he uploaded — the hero, and three photos of who he would meet

One photo of him alone, and three ordinary album photos. Two of them hold several people — that is perfectly fine; he joins all of them.

2. And what he picked — three figures from the "Jewish sages" pack

The figures come ready from the catalog, each in their own setting. You upload nothing for them.

3. What we created — six encounters, not one of which was ever photographed

In each picture the hero stands together with the people from their own photo, in their background and their light, doing what was chosen for that station. These are the scenes the film is built from.

4. And the film

The six encounters above, joined into one journey in which the hero walks from each to the next. The names on screen were switched on for this film.

How is this different from morphing between photos?

In an ordinary memory video each photo dissolves into the next — person A becomes person B. That is not what happens here. The hero stays the hero for the whole film: they leave one encounter, walk, and arrive at the next. Whoever leaves the first scene is exactly whoever arrives at the second, on their own two feet — not by a dissolve, a fade or a cut. Everyone else stays where they are.

What you upload

That's all. No names to fill in, no years, no forms. Up to 120 photos in one film, and you change the order of the encounters by dragging.

The shape comes first. Portrait (like a phone video) or landscape — and it is chosen before the hero's photo, because that photo has to be in the same shape; the screen crops it to the film's exact shape so the opening never shows black bars. The encounter photos can be any shape — those pictures are generated in the film's shape anyway.

How they meet — your choice

For every encounter you choose what happens in it:

The choice is made per encounter: in one they hug, in the next they take a selfie, and in a third they receive a blessing. There is no single film-wide setting — every encounter card carries its own choice, with a default already selected (a selfie for an encounter from your own photo; in the meetings packs a blessing, a handshake or a high five, depending on the figure), and you change it with one tap. With a religious figure only respectful meetings are offered — a blessing and a bow, and a handshake or hand kiss where that is appropriate.

What MorphMovie does with it

  1. Reads the encounter photo — who is in it, where it was taken and in what light.
  2. Creates a new encounter picture: the hero from their photo, the people from theirs, in the same background and the same lighting as their photo, doing what you chose. The hero is placed in the foreground, closest to the camera, so their face is never hidden.
  3. You approve each picture before it becomes video. Not happy with one? Ask for it again.
  4. Creates the transition between every two encounters: the hero leaves the first scene and walks into the second, in one continuous motion.
  5. Joins it all into one film — with music, narration and captions, as you choose.

Not only people: ready-made worlds

An encounter doesn't have to come from a photo of yours. There are eight ready-made worlds in the gallery that you can mix in any order with your personal encounters, in two categories:

Meetings packs — historical figures

You can also send the hero to meet figures from a ready-made catalog. Six packs, six figures in each — every figure in their own setting. Add a whole pack with one click, or pick individual figures and mix them with personal encounters:

Most figures also have a line you can choose for them (or leave out), and some have a recorded voice — while a figure speaks, the music and narration drop to the background. The figure's name and line are offered as captions on the captions screen, and appear only if you switch them on.

These figures were created with AI inspired by historical figures — they are not photographs and not authentic portraits, and every film that contains them ends with a line saying so.

Someone who is no longer with us 🕯️

Sometimes the person you most want in that photo is already gone. In an encounters journey you can mark them, and they appear in the meeting together with everyone else.

Every encounter card made from a photo of yours carries a tickbox — "Someone in this photo has passed away". Tick it, then tap the circle of each person who has (you can mark more than one). Only then does the question "How would you like them to appear in the video?" open, with four answers:

The default is "no special effect", and we mean it. Someone you marked without choosing a style looks exactly like everybody else in the picture — no halo, no mark, no hint. Marking is not an effect.

What each style does, if you choose it:

The choice is one per encounter, not per person — we will not ask you to give grandfather wings and grandmother a candle in the same picture. And we do not let the model guess who is meant: it is given that person's exact position in the photo, counted from the circle you tapped, so even in a group of five it is them.

The tickbox appears only on encounters built from your own photos — a ready-made world or a catalog figure has none of your people to mark. And once anyone is marked we ask you to confirm that you are family, or acting with the family's consent. This marking exists in the encounters journey only.

See it before you pay

Before any payment we create at least one encounter for you free of charge — the picture itself and the transition into it. This isn't somebody else's sample film: it is your hero, with your face, in the meeting you chose. Only then do you decide whether to continue.

What you get

One MP4 file in Full HD, in the shape you chose — ready to send on WhatsApp, to project at an event or to post. The download link is valid for seven days, after which the material is deleted from our servers.

How much does it cost?

There is no subscription. You pay once per film, and the price is built from the number of encounters — each one gets a picture and a transition. The full amount is shown on screen before payment, with no hidden fees, and after you have already seen one encounter for free. See the price list →

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a photo where the hero and everyone else already stand together?

No — that is the whole point. You upload one photo of the hero, and separately photos of the people they meet. We create the meeting itself: a new picture in which the hero stands together with them, in the background and lighting of their own photo.

What does the hero's photo need to be?

A photo of them alone, head to toe, with the face clearly visible. You first choose whether the film is portrait or landscape, and the hero's photo has to be in that same shape — the screen crops it to the film's exact shape.

Can I upload a group photo?

Yes. An encounter can be one person, a couple, a family or a whole group — the hero joins everyone in the picture.

How does the hero meet each person?

You pick the kind of meeting for each encounter separately: hug, selfie, high five, handshake, together, blessing, bow or hand kiss. There is no single film-wide setting — every encounter card carries its own choice, with a default already selected.

Can the hero meet historical figures?

Yes. There are six ready-made meetings packs — Jewish sages, Bible figures, Scientists & inventors, Artists & writers, Myths & legends and Mathematicians — with six figures in each. They were created with AI inspired by historical figures, and a line at the end of the film says so.

How many encounters can one film hold?

Up to 120 photos in one film. Each encounter adds about five seconds, so six encounters make a film of roughly half a minute.

Can I see anything before I pay?

Yes. Before any payment we create at least one encounter for free — the picture and the transition into it — so you can see how it looks with your own face.

What if one encounter doesn't come out well?

After payment all the encounter pictures are created first, and you review and approve them one by one. A picture you don't like can be created again before it is turned into video.

Can an encounter include someone who has passed away?

Yes, in an encounter made from a photo of yours. Its card has a tickbox saying that someone in the photo has passed away, and then you tap the circle of each person who has. Only then are you asked how to show them: no special effect (the default), white angel wings, a memorial candle or a soft memorial light. Someone marked without a style looks exactly like everybody else in the picture. An encounter in a ready-made world, or with a figure from the catalog, has no such tickbox. Once anyone is marked we ask you to confirm that you are family, or acting with the family's consent.
